Two New Game Boy Games for the Collection!

I had another couple of great finds while shopping for Game Boy games and they are in such great condition I would be doing you wonderful people a disservice by not showing them off. This post will basically just be pictures of the games, boxes, and little inserts for Pokemon Blue and Donkey Kong Land 2 (Donkey Kong Land in Japan), so if you’re into that sort of thing, give it a look!

Retro Game Shopping in Nagoya, Japan

Nagoya, Japan
That’s nice, but where are the games?

I’ve been going through the dreaded visa renewal process so I had to make a couple of trips to my nearest immigration office which means hoping on the train and going to Nagoya. Nagoya is Japan’s 4th largest city, but doesn’t really seem to have a claim to fame, at least as far as I can tell after some low effort Google searching. I think it’s actually a great place to make a day (or two) trip out of though so that’s what we did!

Yokai Watch 4 Impressions

When I came to Japan for the first time, Yokai Watch had already taken over. I saw it everywhere. Some people even thought it would overtake Pokemon as the go-to monster catching game for kids. Things didn’t end up panning out that way in the following years, but at least they managed to pull me back in (for whatever that’s worth) with Yokai Watch 4.
